One of my key duties as Art Director at Inventables was to create and maintain a rigid yet fluid web-experience that encouraged consumers to learn. As a part of launching the Inventables rebranding the website quickly became the launch pad for testing information hierarchy, purchase analytics, and overal site engagement to create the ideal voice and image system that resonated with the Inventables consumer.
The site was geared to act as a place of collaboration among makers world-wide. One way The Inventables Team and I encouraged these collaborations was with Maker Challenges. Themed challenges pertaining to materials and activity where all participants received an award.
One big challenge housed within the site experience was giving all visitors the confidence to know that they could use a cnc machine. This was done using bold interactions and tested, highly functional language.
